This is where you vote to direct the team on what to do
We only have three weeks to uncover the secrets of longevity in Costa Rica. Beginning January 29th, you will have to make some critical decisions every day in order to use our time wisely. Where should we go? Should we meet with a scientific expert or a centenarian? Throughout this Quest, the team will explore three facets of longevity: mind, body, and spirit. Which is most important in reaching 100 years? It's up to you to lead us to the answers.
Though we're still making last minute preparations in Minneapolis, we already need your help. This first vote will set the tone for the rest of the expedition. Tell us what we should do next.
Though the Blue Zones Quest begins live on the internet on January 29th, our expedition team will arrive early to prepare for the adventure. We need to confirm we have good transportation, lodging, internet access and cell phone use, as well as find experts and centenarians to interview.
Most of the detail work needs to be done in the area of Costa Rica we’re exploring, but all the experts are at the University in San Jose near the airport. We only have two days to prepare, so how do you think the team should best use their time?
1) Rent cars and drive to the area we will be exploring. There we would spend time confirming the details of the trip and begin to find older people to interview.
2) Stay in San Jose and talk and work with professors and researchers at the University to hear their theories of why people in this area live such long lives to gain a background for our exploration.
3) Split up the team leaving half in San Jose meeting researchers while the others travel to the area to make sure things are secure there.
