In
this picture I was 4 years old. I thought I was Peter and I was chasing
my first love, Heidi, through the Alps (haven't found her yet).
25 years later, I now know I'm not Peter, but I'm still chasing my true love around the world: photography.
In
my childhood, my only means of transportation were my feet and,
occasionally, my father's shoulders. Later, I evolved to bicycles and
then (as a good, lazy Italian) motorbikes.
More
than 100,000 miles on motorbike later, I've taken countless road trips
and flights, my flag stickers collection now numbers 35 different
countries, including a trans-Danubia ride, a trans-Africa ride, pluvial
forest paddling and a lot of desert sand still in my shoes, pants and
helmet.
I feel like our beautiful world is disappearing too fast
- cultures and natural paradise can fade too quickly. That's why I am
a photo-maniac. Every situation I face, my main goal is to document it
for future generations.
My
dream? To freeze forever a moment in a picture, telling a story through
a frame that can help somebody to gain better insights into our world
and act in a more responsible way than we have so far.
Peace and love,
Gianluca Colla
