Perhaps Love Isn't All You Need
I spent the afternoon tracking down Okinawan couples in arranged
marriages who have been together for over 50 years. Like many
Americans who have been married that long, they said their marriages
are better than ever. If you trust the statistics, that's true. In
Okinawa, the divorce rate is still under 3%.
That's
staggeringly low compared to the current divorce rates in the United
States. According to The National Center for Health Statistics, the US
divorce rate is over 60%, an all-time high, with most of the divorces
happening before couples have been married for 15 years.
