SWEATING IT OUT, OKINAWAN-STYLE

Exercise. We all know we should get it. But how much should we get
to gain the most years out of our life and most life out of our years?
Again, traditional Okinawans probably have something to teach us.
Today, we met Fumiyasu Yamakawa, the athlete pictured standing on his head on the cover of November's National Geographic
magazine. We met him at Naminoue Beach where he exercises every
morning. He wakes at 4:00 a.m., rides several miles to the beach,
practices a half hour of yoga, jogs a mile, swims laps and then stands
on his head until his ears burn. Sound like a tough work out? Fumiyasu
is 84 years old.
