SWEATING IT OUT, OKINAWAN-STYLE National Geographic cover

Exercise. We all know we should get it. But how much should we get to gain the most years out of our life and most life out of our years?

Again, traditional Okinawans probably have something to teach us.

Today, we met Fumiyasu Yamakawa, the athlete pictured standing on his head on the cover of November's National Geographic magazine. We met him at Naminoue Beach where he exercises every morning. He wakes at 4:00 a.m., rides several miles to the beach, practices a half hour of yoga, jogs a mile, swims laps and then stands on his head until his ears burn. Sound like a tough work out? Fumiyasu is 84 years old.
