girlmayaquest.jpgQuests: Lessons

Each of the Quest's features is designed to be used in less than 10 minutes. Even if you have just one or two holes in your daily schedule, your students can still learn with us as we explore and uncover the factors that contribute to the Blue Zone’s amazing longevity. Once you do one of these three introductory lessons, your students will be able to follow the Quest with minimum time taken out of the classroom’s day.

All the features within the Blue Zones Quest provide opportunities for your students to practice and extend their basic skills. The daily website reports all feature accessible content with which students can apply their reading comprehension skills or provide a spark for informative and persuasive writing. The fun statistics provide opportunities for graphing and creating word problems.

The Blue Zones Quest presents natural opportunities to teach social studies, geography, science, health, language arts and math in an integrated unit of study. Our central mystery --- “What is the secret to a long and healthy life?” --- presents an ideal organizing question for an interdisciplinary unit. Add the following lessons to teach in the content areas or as an interdisciplinary unit.
